Open House - Suburban Co-op Nursery School

Join us on Tuesday, November 11 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. for our Open House. Suburban Nursery School is a 50-year-old non-profit, cooperative preschool with creative, play-based programs for 2, 3 and 4 year-olds. Children should be 2 years old by September 1, 2015 to attend next Fall. We will offer tours of the school, a chance to meet parents and teachers, and the opportunity to submit applications for the 2015-16 school year. SNS t-shirts will be offered to the child(ren) of the families who submit applications at this event! Suburban Nursery School is located in the Concord Center building at: 7210 Hidden Creek Road, Bethesda, MD 20817. Ample free parking is available on-site and light refreshments will be served. Each Monday, we’ll feature a grown-up movie complete with snacks, water, stroller parking an audience that won’t mind if your baby cries! Monday November 3 “The Neighbors” w/ Seth Rogan 10 a.m.-12 p.m. $5 required concession fee This program is offered to parents with children 12 months or younger. Walt Whitman High School presents a rousing rendition of the musical comedy CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Performances are scheduled for November 20-22 at 7:00 p.m. CATCH ME IF YOU CAN is directed by Christopher Gerken, with special choreography by Melani Drummer. This show features a live pit orchestra and a 64-member technical crew and is a spectacle not to be missed!

How: Fill out an application and pay the fee of $120 for this 6-week program. Please join our new Montessori-based Parent/Child Classes. Learn more about Montessori, the philosophy that encourages and fosters independence, concentration, confidence, and love of learning; gain support from other parents; discuss important topics related to raising children. Each week there will be a topic about some aspect of parenting. Classes will be taught by Carrie Weitzman, Montessori trained teacher and mother.

Hearst’s Annual E-cycle and Swap Spot is scheduled for Saturday, November 1st from 9am to 1pm. The Hearst E-cycle is a broader green, health, and community event that provides a place for people to recycle old electronics, batteries, computers, and the like. But it is so much more than that. It is also an opportunity for us to remind our children to reduce re-use and recycle. The spirits of Christian and Amelia Heurich will open the doors to the spooktacular Heurich House Museum for trick-or-treaters on Halloween evening. Local ghosts, goblins, and ghouls are encouraged to stop by the “Brewmaster’s Castle” from 5-8 pm for Halloween candy. Come see our boo-tiful Halloween decorations and meet the bewitching museum staff. No house tours are offered, so enter only if you dare!
