Join the FitDC Billion Steps Challenge - a fun campaign to collectively get DC residents to log One Billion Steps! Whether taking your kids on a stroll through the park or walking your kids to daycare, your steps count! Log your steps!

We encourage you to participate in the FitDC Billion Steps Challenge in the following ways:
1. Use a pedometer, FitBit or other device to track your steps. Or if you do not have a device, you may use the following steps as a guide.
- 2,000 steps = 1 mile
- 200 steps = about 1 block
- 1,200 steps = 10 minutes of walking
2. You may log your steps for the FitDC Billion Steps Challenge in the following ways:
o Text: Send “Your Number of Steps Steps #WardNumber” to 202-759-0470 (Example Text: 6000 Steps #Ward1)
o Visit www.FitDC.com/steps and upload steps
o Twitter: Send a tweet to @MyFitDC with the following format: “I walked your number of steps Steps #WardNumber #BillionStepsChallenge @MyFitDC“

3. You may also connect with the Fit DC Coach in your ward. To find out who your coach is visit, http://www.fitdc.com/fitdc-coaches-2/ and connect with them on Twitter.
4. You may also participate in an upcoming FitDC Ward Walk.
