Maestro Luke Frazier and the American Pops Orchestra are pleased to announce their upcoming innovative, interactive musical event at Town DanceBoutique with vocalists, dancers, and DJ. You Spin Me ‘Round: An 80s Prom features the American Pops Orchestra with DJ Shea Van Horn, vocalists Warren Freeman and Bayla Whitten, and choreography by Broadway’s Matt Couvillon (A Chorus Line) at 9:00 PM on Wednesday, August 26.
You Spin Me ‘Round: An 80s Prom will take you back in time to the era of music videos, sit-coms, and big hair with its interpretations of hit songs Billie Jean, Flashdance, Physical, The Greatest Love of All, and other favorites. Guests are encouraged to wear retro attire to immerse themselves in the experience and will have the chance to learn original choreography from Broadway dancers and hit the dance floor like it’s 1989. This original show stars two vibrant vocalists with local DC ties: Bayla Whitten and Warren Freeman, and DC’s beloved DJ Shea Van Horn. Bayla Whitten was born and raised in Northern Virginia, educated at the London School of Musical Theatre, and has appeared locally at Arena Stage and Signature Theatre. Warren Freeman has appeared in the National Tours of Cats, My Fair Lady, and The Sound of Music and teaches rock and pop vocal technique at Catholic University. DJ Shea Van Horn is a DC-based event promoter and DJ, whose monthly MIXTAPE parties have earned accolades in Washingtonian, The Washington Blade, and Brightest Young Things.
