I think it is wrong to simply assume that your Nanny should be completely recovered in three days just because she had “enough” time to rest.

Unless your Nanny does this often - I would trust that she does not feel well enough to come into work.

You should have a backup plan for situations such as this.

This.
Having a backup plan is the responsibility of the employer -
Please be aware of this agency. I was flowing along as a candidate with them, receiving good feedback and welcoming emails as they learned about my qualifications. Late last night I posted on my profile for the families looking for a good nanny, that I am a Christian. Today I tried to login after seeing a job I might like to apply for and read on my login page :"Sorry; you no longer have access." I am partly laughing to myself because I think they probably are silly enough to think I am not aware of why I have no access. But, please, especially you sweet Christian folks in MD who specified in your nanny request that you would like a Christian nanny. Please be aware that they are about to take your thousands and obviously have not, for some hypocritical reason, blocked your family from accessing the search for a nanny as a Christian family. Could it be due to you being the payor and I get to be placed for free? Oh my. These poor things.

Hope this saves someone else from being deceived by pink Nannies. I actually had second thoughts a few months ago when searching for a good placement agency; I read like 2 or 3 start reviews with bad grades given elsewhere too. I should have known better.
This is January 2025
Trust me on this…..
Your child knows you are her Mommy + loves you the most!

She also loves her Nanny which is what every parent desires!!

Your Nanny sounds like she is truly worth her weight in pure gold.
A true gem.

Many families would give their right arm to have such a wonderful Nanny for their child.
You may have won the lotto in the Nanny department OP!

I cannot begin to understand why you would even consider firing someone who simply is doing a great job for you.

Yes I have experienced this w/many of my Nanny bosses.
Is this more of a Housekeeper position as opposed to a Nanny position??

It seems your job duties are primarily tied up in keeping the home fires burning.

Yes, there are also child-related duties involved but the main focus seems to be the home.

Honestly $40/Hour seems very reasonable here for all that this job requires.

Good luck.
$40 hourly nothing less. That’s a lot of work House manager and nanny….plus driving the kids on your vehicle? I’d ask to use the family’s car instead.
$35 hourly with 40 hours/weekly guaranteed, all holidays paid, healthcare stipend about $400, 5 sick days, 10 days PTO. Most Nannies have their own vehicle but parents provide their OWN vehicle to transport their children( or else nanny has to request for reimbursement for insurance and change policy to “work vehicle” and increase PIP-this is a must.)mileage reimbursement doesn’t cover the wear and tear of nanny’s vehicle. Legal overtime paid at 1.5x all on payroll
I had 2 employers that were narcissists and i just couldn’t work with them—-
Career nanny here and this is often seen with first time moms and what you're feeling isn't normal hear me out. You are mom and no amount of time a childcare provider spends with your baby is going to replace who you are to your daughter. To fire someone or even consider it because your child loves her says a lot about you as a person. If your baby hated her you'd be on here telling a different story asking for advice. My point is be grateful you have a wonderful nanny that your child loves and stop over thinking and creating silly narratives in your head. Also do not bring this up to your husband because he's going to think you are nuts although he wouldn't say it. I've worked in many households and seen it first hand.
They all are then they get on here and bash us
Nanny’s have you ever felt like the family you are working for are narcissist? I don’t want to feel this way but I think it’s a strong possibility.
Thread is going on 9 years old and rejuvenated by a bot...
Ummm most parents would love to have someone they trust to take care of their child. I swear some people are truly nuts. It’s your child. Can’t she love more than one person. The nanny can’t replace you so stop being so dramatic. I’d hate to be the nanny. She is above to get fired because you’re jealous
