This word is thrown around so carelessly at everyone these days.
why do you care?
I doubt the entire family are narcs.
Can she take uber?
Looking for a carpool or driver for my nanny, daily from Logan Circle Area to Ft Lincoln. She is currently taking the bus, but with RTO we need a more reliable plan for transportation. Feel free to reach out for more info.
Nanny here.

You are blessed with a nanny who seems to love your baby is happy and comfortable with her : you're very lucky

She is NOT her mom and your baby absolutely knows the difference. Yes, she will get attached to her nanny, her teachers, maybe an aunt or a friend's mom ... This is really a blessing.

You had her work in your household while you were down and out with the flu? And then you set a timer the minute she gets sick because in your eyes she should be all better within 72 hours? LOL good luck with the revolving door of nannies you'll likely be going through over the years.
Yeah I’m sure they blocked you for being a Christian. It’s not like the majority of the country identifies as such.
Anonymous wrote:Dear Parents,

I am writing to express my interest in the nanny position you advertised on DCUrbanMom.com. My name is Eden, and I currently reside on Wisconsin Ave. I am truly passionate about working with children and would be honored to provide your family with dedicated and loving care.

Over the past eight years, I have had the privilege of working as an au pair for a wonderful family of four. During this time, I ensured the children’s safety and well-being while fostering a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment. My responsibilities included organizing daily routines, planning fun and educational activities, and assisting with household management to support the family’s needs. This role has equipped me with invaluable experience in balancing care, structure, and creativity.

I bring extensive experience working with children of all ages, from newborns to school-aged. My natural and friendly approach allows me to connect meaningfully with children, while my commitment to their safety and development remains my top priority. Additionally, as a non-smoker who practices healthy habits, I strive to be a positive role model in any household.

I would love the opportunity to discuss how my experience can meet your family's needs. If you’re interested, I’d be happy to set up a time for us to speak further at your convenience. Please let me know a time that works best for you, and I will make sure to accommodate it.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to hearing from you soon and hopefully connecting further.

Sincerely,
Eden

Who posted a job? Also, if you were an au pair for 8 years something is up, you can only legally do it for 2 years. Did you stay in the US illegally? Also, this is a bizarre way to try to get a job.
I wish my son loved our nanny like this. Our nanny has been with my son since he was 5.5 months old, and he tolerates her and ADORES my husband and me. Sometimes he gets mad when she arrives because he knows it means mom and dad have to work.

Daycare would be better for your family, OP. I don’t say that facetiously but you have to have a somewhat flexible schedule to have a nanny. Things happen. It doesn’t sound like you have that, so you need to reconsider your childcare arrangements.

Many different factors need to be considered such as age, general health, etc.

I think it is wrong to simply assume that your Nanny should be completely recovered in three days just because she had “enough” time to rest.

Unless your Nanny does this often - I would trust that she does not feel well enough to come into work.

You should have a backup plan for situations such as this.

This.
Having a backup plan is the responsibility of the employer -
Please be aware of this agency. I was flowing along as a candidate with them, receiving good feedback and welcoming emails as they learned about my qualifications. Late last night I posted on my profile for the families looking for a good nanny, that I am a Christian. Today I tried to login after seeing a job I might like to apply for and read on my login page :"Sorry; you no longer have access." I am partly laughing to myself because I think they probably are silly enough to think I am not aware of why I have no access. But, please, especially you sweet Christian folks in MD who specified in your nanny request that you would like a Christian nanny. Please be aware that they are about to take your thousands and obviously have not, for some hypocritical reason, blocked your family from accessing the search for a nanny as a Christian family. Could it be due to you being the payor and I get to be placed for free? Oh my. These poor things.

Hope this saves someone else from being deceived by pink Nannies. I actually had second thoughts a few months ago when searching for a good placement agency; I read like 2 or 3 start reviews with bad grades given elsewhere too. I should have known better.
