Some of the people on this forum are just nuts imo.
I would stop doing little chores here + there for this family because then they begin to expect it…and more.
Just do what is in your contract.
If they ask you to do anything more - - just respond that you do childcare only and just feel comfortable caring for the child alone > that you do not do any household work.
However if you are willing to take care of some household chores during nap time make sure they compensate you (extra!) accordingly.

I totally agree with this.
Since you never agreed to be a live-in, then you have every right to decline that offer.
Because being a live-in Nanny is just not for everyone.
Just tell both the family as well as the agency that you could not find a suitable apartment nearby for the amount of rent that you are able to afford so that unfortunately you will be unable to stay w/this position.
Also, since you are on a trial period you can also just tell the agency it wasn’t a good match.

I would be annoyed if I had to send an email or text each payday with the amount I was owed, why should I have to do this every week or so?
In all other jobs the employees do not have to regularly remind their employers to pay them on time. That is the responsibility of the employers.

You either live in or find an apartment or house with some roomates.
That's only something you can decide.
I would quit but I have enough in savings to support myself.

I’m looking for a Newborn Care Nanny with many great years of service. Any ideas where I should begin my search would be appreciated. Also we need to find someone within the next 10 weeks.
