To get back on the original title of this forum. Some nannies do get multiple offers, some don't.

I know as a Professional Nanny of 25 years, that I have most of the time, interviewed with one family and known by the time I left the interview, whether or not I would take the job if offered and even if I felt I would be offered the job. I have also known by an interview that it would not work.

Every nanny is willing to do different things, some are willing to do housework, some are not. I did in the beginning but now I dont, other then anything to do with the children and then if they are old enough, they help with chores. Some have a formal college education and some dont. I have experience and some professional nanny workshops/conferences and belong to a great nanny group that also has these great educational opportunities we can attend or are brought to us.

Some families want the more formally educated and again some want the actual hands on years on the job kind of nanny.

An agency is a privately owned company that works one on one with nannies and families. They interview both the family and nanny so as to find what both needs.
A website does not work one on one with the nannies or the parents. You are putting your info into a datebase and putting what you want, with the two sites i work with, they just send you notices when jobs in your AREA have come up.. not based on what you want wage wise.
Do you have a contract? What was discussed when you knew in the beginning you would be using your own car for work?

I would sit down on your own and make a list of what you would like for a "raise" and think about the extra driving to and from and the addition of another child each day.

You have a right to ask for money for work driving and even for the additional child. If you are that close and can truly communicate well then they should be happy to work with you on what needs you have.
The right agency works with you and knows what you need or depending on your experience what you can/should be asking.
The right agency does not send you to a family that can not pay that rate.
If you dont feel they are giving you what you need, then you would move on.
The same goes with these sites, if you dont like the offers or the jobs, then why would you stay? Why make yourself miserable or get angry at people you dont know just to find a job.
There are some nannies who do not mind doing household work. Most household that comes under the "nanny" heading all has to do with the child only. Not the parents or the rest of the house. I would make a list of what you are willing to do and what you are not. I would then let her know you want to talk with her and go from there. The hours you work for her and then you go to a full time job, should also be taken into consideration. Just remember, when you do something once, thinking you are being helpful, it then can become expected.
Try an agency or a sitting/nanny site. Your hours are not unreasonable. However they are for certain people. If you offer a competitive wage you will find the right person. Make sure you check references if going on your own.
I tend to ignore the lower offers. I go with some people are not able to afford the money it takes for top "nannies" or "sitters" and so they offer what they can. Others just try and see if they can get away with a low offer. I am sure they will get responses, but until people stop responding and parents are not clued in, they will stay.

It is not Care.com or Urbansitter or any other sites job to tell people what to offer or not.

If the job sounds good but the offer is really low, then come back with interested and explain the problem with the pay and see if they family will pay what your rate is. If not then move on. Its not something to get offended or bitter over.

If you are truly a professional, then you know you wont always like the offers or the way people think of nannies. It is life.
