Why do American nannies have such a different mentality? RSS feed

It's because the USA has a stronger economy so most people don't have to work for subsistence wages.

You wannabe slave-masters are grotesque

Absolutely! Many stay-at-home parents perform a multitude of tasks without financial compensation. Having staff handle multiple duties seems reasonable and reflects the versatility many individuals demonstrate in various roles.Magic 8 Ball

When you were a SAHM you were an unpaid housewives and it was your job to perform all those duties 24/7. Your reward was sex with your husband. Apparently, you had a Road to Damascus moment and realized that you had been short changed and decided that you wanted more.

Nannies duties are exclusively child care. They don't clean toilets, wash your clothes, change your dirty sheets, or clean up the mess you leave from a drunken weekend.

I think that's a false distinction everywhere but in the US and DCUM.

Something to do with most in DCUM area working in the public sector?

I’m an American nanny in Los Angeles and I earn $127k/year. It pays better than my old job: teaching.
