Meanwhile, in another conversation where a commenter is actually trying to one-up the OP on who suffers most. Seriously, could you just offer a constructive insight into her dilemma without making it about yourself? |
The "don't have children if you can't afford them" comments are beyond ignorant. Please take some time to form an actual opinion instead of some tired, reactionary outburst that has no relevance to the situation being discussed. Really think about your own motivation in posting comments on this thread, because your belligerence is so thoroughly misplaced with this OP. |
This is a good idea. Sometimes a nanny-share works very well for families and the nanny. |
This is your answer, OP. Don't use friends and neighbors, because no one wants to be put in that position unless an emergency arises. Nannies are luxuries and it is out of your price range. No one is faulting you for not being able to afford one, but you are not being very realistic. Daycares are what most people use because they are more affordable, especially in home daycares. You will find some over night or 24 hour places that can accommodate your child. Check craigslist, a lot of daycare centers post there. That is where you will find your cheapest childcare options. It isn't ideal, but it is likely your best option. |

I think home daycare is probably the solution for OP. You know, where a stay at home mom is already home with her children and takes in a few extra children to care for in order to provide some income for the household.
There is someone out there that is the right fit for OP. Hard to find though. Good luck. |
