President Obama.

Liar.

Yes, people like that should be arrested.

This is criminal. I’d report those employers.

OP here and do you feel the same way when you see someone rob your neighbor's home? It is none of your business, right?

And in this case the nanny was miserable but afraid to leave.

Are both the neighbor being robbed and the robber both happy with the agreement? Probably not since neighbor will be upset, so you may intervene. As for the nanny, since I pointed out they are both likely happy and enjoying the relationship and nanny is satisfied and sending money home to her family then just leave them alone. If she wanted to be deported and go back to Mexico to work for $1 a day then I'm sure she could do that without much effort. But she wants to be here earning $5 an hour so MYOB.

You’re a disgrace. NP

There should really be an 800 number to report this kind of abuse.

Criminal behavior is everyone’s business.

anyone making the nanny work there? If she is forced to do it, its akin to human trafficking. If she is not forced to work there, then she is happy with what she is getting, she can always leave and work somewhere else.

The most naive take. Or you’re trying to assuage your own guilt because you also pay illegally and pitifully low. If not, you’re missing the huge power imbalance. In this situation the power is more unfairly balanced than in a typical employer/employee relationship. Isn’t this obvious? I guess not. Lots of people are missing the obvious in the country.

It all depends on the area and demand for Nannies.

Read this slowly: it is dependent on people having morals and not breaking the law for their own gain, by taking advantage of others. Get your head checked, there’s something missing. Pay your “nanny” a fair wage, on the books. Hopefully you’ll pay the price if you don’t.

Also, it’s nannies, since when is Nanny/Nannies a proper noun? Why do so many posters on this forum have a lack of knowledge of this? It makes you look dim.

Except, it’s not. Suck it up and go back to school or continue to be uneducated. You’ll also continue to look dumb to everyone around you. This is second grade level information.

It’s autocorrect on my phone. No one is on here trying to write PhD essays. Try to stay on topic.

Yeah, knowing what a proper noun is and a PhD worthy essay are the same thing, for sure. Not that you’d know. Seems you’re going off topic. Interesting that even your “autocorrect” is dense.
