I met once a Colombian nanny in Clarendon that worked for a family as a live in nanny, she had to buy her groceries because they had no food for her, no schedule she worked all the time, her salary was very low, the family worked for American Embassy and they were going to be transferred to Russia, so she didnt go but ended with another family that was as bad or worse, I thought slavery was over, the little girl called her nanny not even her name, so I wonder she must of been really poor in her country so these families just take them for a ride because they know they are soo needy how sad a shame on those employers

I met another nanny in Clarendon from India, the same case the American Embassy empoyees, so this nanny the same very long hours and since the Mom was pregnant she had to sleep with the girls so that meant no good rest, very low salary, how convenient for this families to hire these poor women and have them work like this, these nannies talk to us at parks and tell us their horror stories but we cant do anything about it, just listen, this family left to Russia also and her sister went with them and the same treatment in Russia, what a shame

American people who are well educated,don't take advantage of any illegal person. People who take advantage of undocumented immigrants are other immigrants from different countries, I worked with American Famies for 10 years I was indoctrinated immigran. I did my job perfectly, I get well paid I was always happy with the family and the job. No American Family took advantage of my immigration status ever.

I agree, but half of Washington workers would have to stay home without their illegal domestic workers. They'd have to babysit their own kids and scrub their own toilets.
