I could care less how she is dressed (barring inappropriate clothes, of course). I hired a nanny, not a fashion model. I want her to be comfortable on the job.
I suspect that OP secretly wants to impress her friends or others with the appearance of a perfect nanny or perfect family and she hopes this will cover up her own inadequacies. I say, Get over it. It's my life to live, not the neighbors'. |
No, nannies need not be fashion models, (and few of us could qualify, thank you), but they should still present themselves professionally. Of course, many nannies are not professionals, so it's understandable that they (and their employers) would be unconcerned. |
I dress nicely every day...dark jeans, cardigans etc.
Skirts, dresses in the summer and capris...I always have my hair and nails done, makeup on. I represent my family...I am paid very well and I got the vibe when I started sweats weren't going to fly. |
I know nannies who don't even brush their teeth before they go to work and that are dirty...that's disgusting to me...people should take some pride. |
I know the director of a non-profit who doesn't brush his teeth before he goes to work. What's your point? |
|
Maybe the fact that brushing your teeth is rather basic?
|
Is it a question of your idea of what a nanny is, playmate or teacher? After all, playmate / big sis attire, is very different than teacher attire... |
lmao that little comment right there proves that you most likely aren't ![]() |
Oh, you are oh so smart, pp! If you're a fashion model, you're not a nanny. Do you have two FT jobs? |
Does it have anything to do with nannies as a whole, or is this just an anecdotal piece of information you can use to try and disparage an entire profession? I wouldn't say non-profit directors are lazy slobs, even though I have known several who were. Please extend the same courtesy to nannies. |
The teeth comment has nothing to do with nannies; it was a response to the person who brought it up. |
I am a nanny...I posted about the nanny who cares so little about her job she can't brush her teeth...to me that's lazy..beyond lazy
I would never go to work without a shower, mascara and my nails done. I take pride in my appearance. If I was a mom I would not hire a nanny who couldn't spend 30 minutes getting herself together. |
Kudos to you, 16:18. You are my kind of nanny. ![]() |
"Nails done" meaning you clip them so you won't accidently scratch DC. |
