DL is putting the kids on the computer, making sure they get on at the right time, supervising them behaving, going over classwork/homework with them. Its what a parent does and a nanny is a replacement parent while they are on work hours. So what, you just want to ignore the kids for 8-10 hours a day?

Ya’ll are nuts! The nanny doesn’t get paid more because the kids’ needs change as they get older - she gets annual raises bonuses etc, but that’s tied to length of employment. Of course the needs change. Do you subtract for the fact that no more diaper changes when the child is potty trained? What’s developmentally appropriate for a newborn is not for a 4yp!

Teaching is necessary for some kids during dl, because those kids are not getting an adequate education through zoom. Others are trying to keep kids focused on the screen, and it’s worse than homeschooling.
