Yes, the job that the parents could do it. Im a mom btw. Some parents let thier children wacth tv the moment the nanny is leaving to have some mental rest, so if they do it the nanny should as well. It makes harder the job when parents spoils thier kid and if the nanny doesnt do it the kid goes after the parents for tv, its sad to see that some parents dont comnunicate well with thier nannies. Thats why those nannies go find better families, not all parents are addicted, glued to thier phones and tv. |
Your point that what an employer asks an employee to do, the employer must do himself in his off hours - least he be deemed a hypocrite by you, is absurd. How old are you? You have every right to hire a nanny to engage your children without TV or phones even if you are constantly on your phone and let the kids watch hours of TV. I am a nanny, btw |
What? No, I don't have a mental rest at work. I don't even take the 20 minutes required by law every 4 hours or whatever it is in my profession.Letting my kids watch tv is a mental rest at home. I'm sure nannies how mental rest at home, but why do they need them at work also? I wish I'd care enough to call you stupid. |
| Oh my gosh. As a nanny, I can say this behavior is atrocious. Find a new nanny, and make it clear in the interview that she is expected to do lots of activities WITH the children. This really is unacceptable. |
