Without involving this particular nanny, where do you all get this crazy idea that if you're not authorized to work, you don't pay taxes? I've had tons of jobs I wasn't supposed to have (naughty naughty!) but religiously reported and paid taxes on all the income they generated. Do you not realize that USCIS and IRS are two different agencies that rarely talk, almost never cooperate and most certainly do not act as enforcement agents for one another?

you are definitely due a citizen of the year award

As a matter of fact, I think I am, having paid tens of thousands of dollars in taxes to finance public services I will never get to use.

Give me a break with these theatrics! You never drive on public roads? You never go to parks? Our national defense does not apply to you?
No public universities. No Medicare/Medicaid. No Social Security payments.

Who would you call and who would put the MB in jail?
I am not the PP who made the comment. Was curious however. It looks like what this OP/MB is doing is illegal. Her nanny is deportable. Reading on Google who is our friend it looks like OP/MB should be fined for breaking the US labor laws. Not sure though if this would land her in jail. http://www.fairus.org/issue/how-to-report-illegal-immigrants

OP, Kudos to you for looking out for your nanny. You sound like a very loyal employer and she has been very blessed to have worked for your family as long as she has.

It may be difficult for her to secure another position, esp. with her high salary/benefit requirements and her illegal status.

She may have to work for less if she want to continue working as a nanny.

You can continue assisting her in finding a new family to work for, but tell your nanny to prepare to take a possible pay cut.
