There are agencies that do this for you, but it ends up costing $3000 for that "service".
YCN (Your Child's Nanny) is a complete joke, run by a couple women working part time in Oregon and Hawaii. Read customer feedback online before signing up with any of them. Especially Yelp...which was so bad, they took it down.

yes.

wait, really? They seem so nice. I could not find any online review on Yelp or elsewhere

I'm a live-in nanny, and I (more than) fit their criteria. They gave me the run-around, but said that if I knew anyone just getting out of high school, they'd love to hear from them!

They do seem nice. And maybe they are nice, I don't know. But they are quite unprofessional and the "product"hey sell is not well-vetted. I am sure some customers do get lucky, but we were very, very unlucky when we worked with them. And there was little they could do or were willing to do about it. In fact, they made things worse with their unprofessionalism. Think about how the au pair system works, and some girls are just not cut out for it. That's the same product they sell, but with less vetting, no local support, and no good procedures in place for making things right. Stay away from "Your Child's Nanny."

I am not LDS, and have no plans to be. That said, I have hired many over the years, and have nothing but good to say about them. If you have a chance to hire an LDS nanny, au pair, etc, I would definitely further explore the option.

How does one hire an American aupair? This is an international exchange program. None of this makes sense. You can pay an American Mormon, jew, Muslim or atheist $200 a week and call her an AuPair.

NP here, I’m sure au pair is a term of art with the state department but I guess I think of an au pair position as a younger person before college or in between college and grad school/work who wants to live in and doesn’t plan for nannying to be a more long term job. Since my actual au pair is German and can’t get through the travel ban, any advice on finding a US based option, LDS or not, is appreciated.
