That you might actually have a child of your own some day... |
| That you'd be so obnoxious to think that you should be allowed to take advantage of your MB one day... |
Clear thinking MBs jump at the opportunity, to not be raising a spoiled braty singleton. Those children tend to have a tough life, you do know? |
|
I get paid to snuggle babies, go to the park, movies, museums, etc. I enjoy the bond with current and former families.
Best perk of all: getting to watch a child grow. It's fascinating and beautiful. |
Where in my post did you get that I intend to take advantage of my MB. My future children will have nothing to do with that woman. I'm 22 and preparing to leave nannying altogether. If I wanted to have children today, I don't need her permission. |

| I love this thread! |
+2 I get paid to play Candyland, hunt for dinosaur eggs in the backyard, make playdoh race cars, and build block towers as tall as myself, all while marveling at how much the kids have grown. What could be better? |
Love this! |

*I get hugs all day long from the sweetest little boy in the world!
*Costco membership! *DB's mom owns a restaurant and frequently brings lunch over when she visits my charge. *Amazing bosses who value and respect me. I'd do anything for them! |
| I get to spend five days a week with my favorite person. |
| As a live in nanny for the last 15 years I have been able to save my entire paycheck and pay off a house I bought when I was 18 years old that I rent out. My parents were against me being a nanny in the beginning saying that I will be poor my whole life. I'm hoping within the next 3 years that I will have a networth including my home of 1 million dollars. I'm getting close. I do online paid surveys, donate plasma and do extra babysitting and I try and live off that money or even 1/4 of that extra money every month so I never have to touch my actual salary from my nanny job. As a nanny I have no bills. Paid cell phone , paid health insurance, car, gas and insurance provided. I travel to wonderful places with the family I work for. I have my own basement apartment in their home and they have an in home gym I work out in almost daily. Having a cleaning service clean my basement apartment once a week and change my sheets/ make my bed is very nice. Driving a range rover is pretty awesome as well. |
Good to hear your success story, so thank you for sharing. What do you want to do some day? |

My biggest perk is the type of family I work with. Not the pay, benefits or anything materialistic. Yes, the family I work for is somewhat wealthy and provides me with great compensation, benefits and small perks, but that isn't the perks I love.
The biggest perk I have is working with a family who truly sees me as a family. They value my opinions. regularly thank me. compliment me on my performance and they fully trust me with their child. They never hesitate or question my motives as they know I would do anything I can to give their Lo the best care he can ever receive, and I will protect his life with mine if need be. Amongst all, they push me to succeed in my future career ( in school) and even help me study for tests and quizzes. They view me as a mature, professional adult and give me the trust and respect I deserve. That is the biggest perk I could ever want from them! Yes, the no makeup, sweats and fun outings is wonderful but I view a lot of that as the smallest factor. |
