Relocating to DC RSS feed

Hi All,

We are relocating to Chevy Chase DC in early January. We are a loving family and want to hire a nanny two weeks before we arrive.

We currently have two kiddos ages 3.5 and 8 months

My husband says the rate for 2 kids in DC is $35 but what else should we provide for our nanny?

Thank you

Deb

• At least two weeks of Paid Vacation (Nanny’s choosing.)

• Three Day Bereavement Leave

Add’l Benefits would be:

• Health Insurance stipend

• Gym Membership

• Use of inhome laundry washer + dryer for personal usage

• Holiday Bonus

• Paid Time Off

Yes, full time Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm

Some Fridays off if we plan on traveling back home for the weekend or to just spend more time with the kids.

Gym Membership? First I’ve heard of that but we’re all for it

Thanks!

Our nanny has been with us for seven years. She gets two weeks paid vacation off, all holidays, seven days sick leave, health insurance of $250 a month, two bonuses a year.

One last thing, guarantee hours.

A career Nanny here with all the credentials. Health stipend of $400 monthly, 2-3 weeks PTO/10/15 DAYS, all holidays paid including Juneteenth , most families are giving unlimited sick time or as needed about 7 days. I’ve never ever heard of Gym membership or use W&D(as each Nanny must wash her dirties at her own place!) Holiday bonuses are not a requirement but certainly a nice token based on performance and its about 2 weeks paid $$, Nanny uses the family’s vehicle to transport the children. Annual salary raise of 2%, Workers Comp, all this on payroll.

Hi are you willing to share your email? I'm currently looking for a new family for the new year. I have over two decades of childcare experience and I have references.

Gym membership isn't standard.
Maybe somewhere there's a family that already belongs to a gym, and the gym allows the family to add the nanny to the family's membership for some very low amount, so the family just does that.
But paying for a nanny-specific gym membership isn't typical.

no nanny who is doing their job properly would want to go to a gym, what a laughable idea! Nanny is in the "gym" all day long!
