I am caring for 10 mo old child. Both grandmothers also care for child and I’m going crazy! One grandmother absolutely ignores any type of sleeping schedule and ‘can’t get child to nap’ . Ever . I have to deal with child the next day. The kid is exhausted, has 30 min long tantrums due to being tired, plus having grandmothers that allow child to do whatever he pleases at all times .
The kids mom is a first timer and priority one is free care from Grandmas closely followed by no clue how to deal with this first child. Grandmas are now so burned out after nearly a year of this ‘high needs’ child that they are paying me to relieve them frequently .
Yesterday day I was told to change poopy diapers when child standing because kid ‘doesn’t like’ changing table . Grandmas also rock child to sleep and attempt to sneak kid into crib- if awakes, entire process again or they hold child for entire nap.
I am so exhausted when day is done that I have to nap myself .
What can I do other than quit immediately?

Talk to them and see if they would be open to any of your solutions and suggestions/schedule you’d like to try.

I once was a Nanny for a child who also did not “like” the changing table.
And they also requested that I change the child’s diaper while the child was standing up!
Needless to say that position didn’t last very long!!
Ha!

If your charge will not properly lay down while being changed - a great idea would be to have a “novelty” toy set aside to let him play with ONLY while getting his diaper changed.
It can be any toy, just as long as it is only brought out for diaper changes.
This really helps me w/squirmy babies, etc.

I also encourage you to speak directly w/your MomBoss & address your concerns >> if she won’t do anything to make your job any easier than your only option left may be to quit.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do OP.
Situations like this are never easy to deal with! :/
