I was aupair and I helped my HF find new aupair.
Questions like:
- What you would like do your free time?
- What you wait from us? Staying in here like HF?
- You like drink and smoke?
- What your plans about travel in USA?
- If in emergency what you will to do?
- Why you choose us?
- How WE CAN (HOST FAMILY) can help you in one year living with us?
- How you see yourself for kids? like friends, nanny, big sister, etc.
- GIVE THE CAR FOR AUPAIR, please. Offer and talk with her or him about car, rules and make her/him part of family. We stay outside us country, by yourself, homesick is terrible. Show the city, go to national her/him restaurant.
- Ask suggestion about what the think about topics important to you for kids education.
- Last and important, she is people like everyone and she/he is the same you, don't say bad things, help improve english because that is program intention. Respect space and free time, give specific schedule and if need to extra, pay for it and talk before. After whole time we keep friendship with them, and I meet girls was aupair 10y ago and today goes to high school graduation. Is really amazing, you want have amazing nanay? Be amazing family! <3

I speak two languages fluently. I’m not fluent in three others, but I know how to use the grammar rules correctly. English is awful when learning to spell, so I’ll give a pass on that.

Wow, this thread got derailed! I was just posting it as a way to connect with your aupair---not an interview question. And not to attack people for not speaking in a language where they do not have fluency in.
