Working while you have COVID-19

Any other nannies working while they have COVID-19.? My employers and I have had it all week. We have mild symptoms however I’m exhausted. I’m trying to not be jealous of all these nannies getting paid to not work. While I’m working and I have it.

Christ this is part of the problem. IF YOU HAVE COVID QUARANTINE FOR 14 DAYS MINIMUM
Quarantine means NO CONTACT with the outside world, even if you are considered essential.
Normally I try to be nice in my replies but it terrifies me to think people are doing this

I live with my nanny family. We all have it. I haven’t left the house in 2 weeks. But I’m still working even though I have it. I can’t give it to anyone else. We are all quarantining. But they are tele working. So I worked last week. I’m just wondering if other nannies would do the same.

If you are SICK you are entitled to take sick days!!! You need to take care of yourself- what if you get worse? Can you take a couple days off to rest? If they say no I think that is illegal.

Ok, I’m 20.34. You didn’t say you live-in before, and that changes things.

My rule of thumb is this (also live-in): I only fall off if I’m vomiting, have diarrhea or a high fever (102+), or can’t perform my duties due to symptoms or medication. If I’m ill, but I think I can work, I ask a parent to decide based on symptoms, that way they are informed. If you feel fine, and you know the kids are either already exposed or (more likely) are asymptotic, and the parents are working? Yes, I’d work too.

It's going to take you longer to get better if you don't let your body rest. Rest = healing.

You need to take a sick day or two, attached to a weekend, so you can have three or four solid days in a row of rest.

Why should we be jailed ? We didn’t leave the house for over 2 weeks. They tele worked and I took care if the kids

+1. Stupid comment from pp. Better to be working than quarantined in a room and not allowed to go in shared spaces as long as you aren’t so sick that you need to be in bed or at the hospital.
