Going rate for nanny for 3 kids (two two yr olds and an infant) RSS feed

Anonymous
We have 2 yr old twins and a baby due in January. We are interested in discussing w/ our current nanny whether she would want to watch all 3 kids (with the two older ones potentially going to nursery school for a few mornings per week). We currently pay $21/hr for two. Could anyone give me a sense of the going rate for 3 kids? We live in DC.

Thank you.

The twins going to nursery school doesn't mean less laundry, less food prep, less cleaning up after the twins, etc. The twins will be sick a lot and nanny will need to care for one or two sick toddlers and a newborn.

You have a bargain at $21 an hour. Cheap out on your offer to have nanny the new baby and you will lose her. We pay our nanny 27 an hour plus give her healthcare coverage for one child.

I pay $25 an hour for 2 children (both toddlers) in DC. Because your nanny is currently making $21 I would say bumping to $25-$28 for an additional child. Or maybe $25 plus bonus.

Good luck!
