Nanny having closed eyes must use drugs. RSS feed

I am posting this for a friend...

Her boss sent her a text this morning letting her know that they've seen here closing her eyes in her car before coming into work in the morning. Her boss asked her if she was sleeping or doing drugs!! DOING DRUGS BC HER EYES ARE CLOSED!?!?!

When she is really praying before going into work... how would you handle your boss after such a horrible accusation !?!?

She should just tell her bosses the truth : she was praying.

I would have been concerned as well to see my nanny with her eyes closed in her car. I wouldn't have thought about drugs though, but maybe sleep ...

She arrives at work before 8.. I do not see what's wrong with her eyes being closed for 1-2 minutes. I do see major issue with a parent thinking to ask the nanny if she is doing drugs!

I would offer to take a drug test. Upon passsing I would quit.

They sound crazy. Tell your friend to quit.

I'd laugh because the idea of ME doing drugs is so silly. Then I'd explain, "My eyes were closed because I was praying."

She should tell them to go to Hell and stay there! How dare they ask such a question,! OUTRAGEOUS. I am not a nanny and have never taken an illegal drug.

I can certainly understand why your nanny old be praying.

I can see them being concerned that she seemed very tired... Honestly, I would think her behavior was weird/likely indicated sleep deprivation, because prayer would just never occur to me. She should just tell them she was praying, but asking via text and suggesting drug use obviously imply she doesn't have a great relationship with her NF.

I would be appalled at being asked such a question....Even offended & would feel disrespected.

What I do in my car before going into work is absolutely NONE of their business!!

Passive aggressive of them to text rather than ask in person, if they really were concerned or thought she was doing drugs. It's offensive and ridiculous. If she WERE doing drugs, what did they think she was going to say -- "Uh, yeah, I'm shooting up before coming into work. Guess I should stop, huh?" Seriously!

I would text back and say she's praying and let them feel like real a-holes.

This. THough I'd probably be hugely offended and that would come through in my tone. It might read something like "I pray in the car before I start my day. I am uncomfortable knowing that you are watching me though, and especially that you leaped to the conclusion I was doing drugs. I will pray elsewhere so this issue doesn't trouble you further."
