Please say a prayer for him. My MB has been keeping me posted over the last couple of hours. He takes meds to help him sleep and got a hold of them after she'd already given him some and took a few days worth. I'm so worried and anxious . His dad is out of town and they've no family here, she's alone and has her baby with her and refuses to let me come get him & take him home. They weren't able to get any of it up and are keeping him over night.
His 4th birthday is tomorrow and I was so excited to give him 2 books from his favorite author mo willems. Mb had arranged for me and the baby to surprise him with cupcakes and balloons at school tomorrow and now instead he is there. Please if you read this send your prayers for their family. Thank you so much. |
| This is so sad op. I will pray for him tonight! |
| Thank you. His heart rate has dropped but other than that no other news. He's a tough one so I know he'll pull through. I just can't imagine what his mom is feeling and his dad being so far away at a time like this. |
|
I cannot imagine what his parents must be enduring at this time as well.
The whole family will be in my prayers tonight. Please PLEASE keep us posted on this unfortunate & heartbreaking situation.
|
| Oh my god, how awful. I will pray for them all. |
|
He is finally awake but still in intensive care being monitored. His father flew in this a.m. & is there with them. I have the baby with me. His mom says they may be able to release him later today.
Thank you all so much |

Wow. I am so so sorry, OP. Hugs to you and the whole family.
What was the drug? Do you know? |
| Your charge is in my thoughts and prayers. I woul be devastated is such a thing ever happened to my three year old charge... |
| You're a great nanny, OP. Thanks for caring so much for your charges and the whole family. |
|
Op here. Thank you everyone for the prayers and kind words. He came home late yesterday afternoon and slept most of the day. We just had a little low key bday celebration for him at the house with just his parents the baby and I.
I have no idea what the name of the medication is called because it's been changed a few times over the months but I know he takes it combined with melatonin. I am going over later today but his parents says he's back to himself! |
Why on earth did he have access to medication? Parents need to supervise him better. Glad he is ok. |
Op here. This doesn't make sense to me at all either. Apparently it was still out from when she initially administered his dose and hadn't put it away yet. I've seen bottles with his name on them up high in cabinets but from what she described it sounds like they had put it in something else that was easier for him to open. When she explained it she mentioned him going through the days and opening the compartments or something to that effect. Which is completely ASININE. The meds should remain in the child proof containers. Of course the hospital contacted CPS and they came to interview her while there. He's been given more than he is supposed to before. The last time both parents have it to him without the other knowing. But this was way more serious. |
Why is a young kid on all those drugs? It sounds like its for the parents benefit vs. the child's. If this is for real, there is much more to the story. |
| Thank goodness this did not happen on your watch, OP, or theuvwouls have blamed you. I agree that something is fishy. |
