What did she mean ( offer)? RSS feed

I interviewed with a family ( mom) yesterday. She reached out today and asked me if I could meet her husband. I agreed. She emails me " is there anything else you need in the decision making process besides meeting my husband". My dad said it sounds like they think I am considering them but I didn't get an offer. I know many families do trials and things with multiple nannies, and me meeting her husband doesn't guarantee me an offer. I don't want to act as if they are and seemed entitled. I don't know if they think extending me to meet her husband is an offer. What do you think she meant by this? I don't want to send the wrong reply.

You're over thinking this. It sounds like they are ready to give you an offer but meeting the husband is the "second interview". To speed up the hiring process if the husband likes you, she wants to know if there is anything else from them you'd like during this second interview. Don't think of it as an offer, it just means that you've made it to the final stage in the interview/hiring process

OMG OP, maybe childcare isn't for you.

She means anything else, like hours, pay, questions you want answered, etc...

ANYTHING ELSE you want to know or need to get!??!?!

I'm OP. I didn't even reply and ask this question. Maybe you should stop with the snarky remarks before knowing the facts.

I think SHE sounds entitled, as if she's "got" you already. Proceed with caution and keep interviewing. It's good to consider several possibilities for yourself.

OP here again. I figured so but I had my dad and two MB's tell me it means I'm offered the position. I wanted to get a second opinion but I believe it's just that I'm at the final states of being hired.

It's ok. She looks dumb because I didn't even ask that. You know what they say when you assume.

It sounds to me like the Mother really likes you a lot & is seriously considering hiring you, so she wants her husband to meet you to see what he thinks before they extend you a formal job offer.

Sounds pretty good to me!

+1. She is about to formalize, unless you come up with sudden requests like taking a ten day vacation or what not.

Well, I hope they come up with an attractive compensation package to snag OP.

MB here. If I said this to you it would mean you were at least one of my final candidates. It wouldn't guarantee an offer, but it is very positive. You should go to the second interview with anything you need/want to know ready.

Good luck!

LMAO. NP means new poster. Clarifying she's not the OP (who would be the original poster). Maybe message boards aren't for you.
