My employers are tracking me. RSS feed

My employers have put a tracker in the nanny car, and I've found hidden cameras. I plan on quitting. I have been a nanny for too long, I'm sick of Db's paranoia and passive aggressiveness.
Should I give the agreed upon notice? I'm tempted to tell them Friday is my last day after my shift is over.

Can you take some time to think and regroup.

Questions
Have hit talked with your bosses on why?
It's their car (correct?) Are other driving it?
Do you have another job lined up? Or savings until the next job?

I would talk with mb and db, understand their side. Then decide.

I would give notice as written in contract. That's professional and mature.

No, I haven't asked them why. It is their car, they rarely drive it. I have enough savings to pay my bills for a year. As far as the cameras I was told about a baby monitor when I started. I am extremely upset. They compliment me all the time on the job I am doing with their children. I'm already feeling a bit micromanaged. I've been a nanny more than 10 yrs, I'm done.

You may have been a nanny for ten years but you haven't been THEIR nanny for ten years. I want to know where my kids are all the time.

It is their child, how would you feel if it were your child?

Wow @ the apologists. It's never okay to secretly spy on your employees. And yes I'm a MB.

Just quit after you get your paycheck. You owe them nothing at this point.

They know where their kids are. I keep a daily log and email pictures all day from each location. So the parents can feel like they're with us. Their kids aren't 10 yrs old.

Yeah. Trust is a two-way street. Parents need to understand that. Good luck to you. You deserve better.

My employers can see where I drive on gps in car and on kids phones too. I don't have a problem with it since it's their car and their kids. It's become normall for nanny families to have nanny cams. But they should tell you ahead of time?

Also you won't get a good reference if you just quit. Give them proper notice of 2-4 weeks if you want a good job reference

Hello, The family broke the nanny's trust. You can't make dishonest people honest. So unfortunate!

Cut your losses, OP, and get out of that hell hole.

Even if I did give notice why in the world would I give 4 weeks?
If I were fired for negligence do you think I'd be given 4 weeks notice? Or severance?

What an ass you are. If you want consideration, you need to earn it. You aren't entitled. Sorry.
