I need advice on how to manage a toddler and infant.
I guess I previously had it easy with only a toddler my last job and he slept 2-3 hours. I usually rested for one or two hours and then cleaned up the house or batch made food. Now I fear I wi t be able to rest or lie down if both kids don't sleep at that same time, 1pm.

How do other nannies do it? Are there any nannies that don't nap or sleep much in the job? I wwill be working 8-6pm

What a troll. I don't know any nannies who sleep during an 8-6 job.

I don't know why you are talking about taking naps like it's some part of every nanny's afternoon -- it isn't. You are going to have to get organized personably (eat breakfast before you show up, pack your lunch, go to bed earlier) and get a routine at the job (and not centering around your nap).

Btw, daycare workers work 7-7 and don't nap...

Or "rest"

I've never taken a nap while working...that seems a little ridiculous. I would clean things up, make sure things are in order, and then sit and read a book...but definitely never sleep!

I would never need to sleep either. I like to read about childhood development.

My 3 yr old hasn't napped regularly since she was 14 months old.

Resting and napping on the job has been well-covered here on dcum. Many nannies do it, and many feel that childcare employees are entitled to downtime. Regardless of the age of kid. How many kids, etc.

Do a dcum word search on the matter.

That's truly awful.

I stretch out on the floor of my charges room for 20 minutes after I have done all his related chores. When the new baby arrives, I ams sure I will not be able to do even that - that is simply the nature of the job.

Buck up, OP. and stop being such a silly child. You are legally entitled to 20 minutes after the first five hours - that is all.

See a doctor immediately if, as a grown woman, you feel the need to nap for an hour in a ten hour work day. Something is physically very wrong with you, OP. Are you obese?

Bahahaha!!!

I take care of triplets, they all nap at the same time. And no I don't nap or rest.

1. If you can't make it through a normal day with out a nap, your screwed. Are you young? Did you take a nanny job thinking it was easy?
Do you have any schooling in education? Is this your first job ever?

2. If you can't figure out how to make a schedule with multiple children, you need to do something else.

Well I'll be the first to say my charge sleeps about 2 and a half hours in the morning, and about 2 hrs in the afternoon and when she sleeps I sleep as well. My MB is aware of this, and has no issue with it. She prefers that I'm recharged when my charge is awake. Personally if a family had a problem with it and expected me to work every minute of the day I'd run and not look back. Honestly if you were a SAHM would you still keep busy or rest when your child finally slept?

Enjoy the sleep ages when they come because come next tat they'll be less and less and less. MBa know that too.
Don't get too spoiled, otherwise you'll end up like disorganized, lazy, fatigued OP!
