My MB and DB invited my husband and I to a barbecue at their home this weekend.
Would it be appropriate for me to have a beer while I'm there? Although I don't think it would be a big deal, I'm not 100% sure. They are very laid back and we get along wonderfully. I've been with them for 2 years, if it matters. |
| I would not. Boundaries are a good thing. |
| If offered, I see nothing wrong with having a drink. |
| MB here. Totally fine. Ds' nanny and her boyfriend come to summer BBQs and both drink. Just be smart. Don't over drink. Remember if it's hot out to stay hydrated with more than just alcohol and eat food! |

Go away. Please. Go. Away. |
| My NF MB and DB are being wine drinkers. I've worked late on several occasions. They have offered a glass of wine while I waited for an uber. I declined. Two occasions they had family over. I stayed late ( MB's mom is older) and they offered me to stay and chat with their family. I accepted but declined a drink when they offered. I didn't feel right drinking on this occasions, especially with work the next day. However, I went to my charges baptism, birthday party, family party, etc. and had a 1-2 small glasses of wine. It's fine to drink but don't go crazy. |

MB here. It's fine. DH gets home before me all the time and sometimes he hands the manny a beer and they sit outside drinking, chatting and watching the kids play.
Don't get buzzed. |

Totally fine.
Enjoy your beer (or two)
|
| Omg you're not working so YES! You're off the clock, enjoy be an adult, chill, relax, talk to other adults. |
I agree this is beyond an asinine question. Like she's working the event or something smh |
| MB here. It's fine. |
| It's fine if you're off the clock. I think one beer is fine, don't overdo it. |
| Make sure you are a GUEST and they do not expect You to help in any way whatsoever and do not offer to help. |
Really? You're shaking your head? You people get worked up over some stupid shit. |
