Yes I shook my head. Are you mad? I shook it and laughed at the dumb question. Why would a grown woman invited to a cook out at her employers as a GUEST even need to ask if she can have a drink? What is she going to do stand around turning down drinks and saying "no thank you I usually watch their kids so not allowed even though I'm here as a guest like you are" ? I would err on the side of caution and decline any alcoholic beverages.
However, if one beer won't affect you and the family is pretty laid back in general, I am sure it will be okay. Just do not get a buzz on because that will not bode well for you professionally. |
