I am a SAHM who just pulled out her lower back for the third time in a year lifting my 30 pound toddler. I have a bum knee so I can't really lift from my legs.
How do you guys strengthen your backs? Will regular sit-ups/crunches help? Thanks so much - I am will to do anything for this not to happen again. |
| Go to a gym instead of the internet. Would probably solve most of your problems. Good luck! |
STFU, PP. To OP: Pilates exercise protect my back. I had one too many lower back injuries when I started being a nanny so I got a Pilates Core DVD and did it every other day. I am also an older nanny with two growing charges and have not had a back pull since starting and continuing Pilates core. |
Yawn. This is the same Pilates troll we have had forever on here, always trying to sell Pilates DVDs. Please stop trying to make Pilates a thing again, I died out for a reason. Op, just try yoga. |
Actually no - I am the PP and I have never written about Pilates before. There are free YouTube pilates core exercises available. Got do your yoga, PP, and try to relax and not take everything so personally. I have friends who do yoga and swear by it. It is not a Yoga vs Pilates war. |
| Have you tried Physical Therapy. My PT really helped me strengthen my back after an injury. |
| Chiropractor |
| Talk to your doctor. |
| Toddlers should walk. |
Obviously, but few can levitate. You still have to pick up a toddler to get them into some models of strollers, out of cribs, into high chairs, etc. |
