Is starting work at 6AM a hardship for nannies? RSS feed

Anonymous
The hours will be 6AM to 3PM, M-F. Is this a positive for good nannies or a negative?
Anonymous
Not for me. I would prefer those hours.

Those hours woukd actually be nice, since a) I get to leave well before pre-dinner witching hour and b) I have regular time off during business hours so I can easily schedule appointments, etc., and c) I avoid peak traffic times. And if I wanted to pick up extra hours it would be easy to book nighttime sitting around that schedule.

huge positive!! I work 6:30am-7pm which sucks but I wouldn't mind getting up early at all to be done at that time!

Well it's a negative if you don't leave outside lights on for the nanny to make their way into your house from the street, since it's still dark at that hour.

Depends on which nanny you're hoping to hire.

If it's dark and they can't see, it absolutely is a safety issue.

Ha! THis made me laugh, which I presume was your intention (rather than to derail the thread as looks like may have already started.)

Yep, thank goodness somebody got it!

It could be a negative for you if you want her to babysit in the evening occasionally and you don't want to pay her to work straight through.

A huge positive. That would be ideal for me.

Positive for me!! I work 5 am to 7pm. Once I put in a commute I'm home in time to sleep and wake back up to commute back.

Wow. That's worse than my old chef hours. I hope they take care of you! Is that 14 hrs, 5 days a week? When do you have time for a life?

The mean girl who enjoys making fun of rape victims is back. It really isn't funny. You lead a sad little life.

She has her life at work. She can watch her soaps, do her own laundry, wash the dishes and every thing else people do on their own time. She will get to live a full life.
