Wow. You're certainly a jaded, nasty soul. I bet that nanny works circles around you and is a kind person to boot. |
With your kid? No, don't kid yourself. |
| sounds v good. plus faster commute at those times. |
| I would love these hours, OP. |
| I would prefer those hours, OP - a definite positive. |
| Personally, I wouldn't like it. It's one thing to be awake at 6 am, it's another thing to be awake, out the door, and ready to greet the day by 530 to get to work at 6. I did it a lot when I was younger, but now, 730 is the earliest I want to start working. I wouldn't apply, but it sounds like lots of other people would love it. |
I also personally wouldn't take or consider a job with those hours, but I do see the appeal. The norm is that people get up early, work all day, and get home as the sun is going down. Not much time to enjoy life besides going to concerts and bars. Also like another poster suggested you need to take a sick day to go to the doctor or something. With these early hours you go to bed earlier, skipping the night life part of it, and get to spend more free time during the day. You can go hiking, or go to the beach before dinner, etc. Lots more options for free time, plus you can still see friends when they get off work before you hit your early bedtime. Schedule wise I like it, but I have other considerations to make regarding schedule but in another life I would be up for those hours too. |

It all depends on you.
Are you a morning person...Someone who naturally rises along with the sun even if you have nowhere to be?? Or: Are you a night owl a.k.a. "Vampire"-type person, one who functions best when it is dark?? I am the latter so these hours would suck for me, but if the pay was good and I got along well with the family, I would just force myself to get up early. What choice would I even have....??! Some people like to work earlier in the day so they still have time left in the afternoon to pursue errands, Dr. appts., etc. |
| The only WAH I would consider a 6am start is if it were a live-in job, but even then I'd prefer not to work that early. I'm not a morning person at all, and I have an hour commute, so my 8am start is plenty early. |
Sorry for autocorrect- *way, not WAH |
You work 14 hours a day, 70 hrs/wk? |
Not the first time I've heard of that. |
