I woke up this in the middle of the night with a throbbing head and a stuffed up nose. Another cold. Taking my 18 month old charge to music class, story time, play group and baby yoga is good for him but playing havoc with my immune system! I have not gotten any advance warning from my employers (as I usually do if charge got sick over the weekend) so it looks like it is just me with the cold which is a relief! He's a little bear when he has a cold.
I already do everything you are supposed to do to prevent colds - I wash my hands religiously and lather for 30 seconds, eat right, exercise, stay away from anyone clearly sneezing/coughing. I still have to work today so I'll take extra precautions so that charge doesn't get it. No question, I guess this is just a vent. Ugh... |

Sorry, OP. Little kids are "germ bags". The people who average four or five colds a year are mothers of toddlers, nannies of toddlers and teachers of toddlers.
Take care! |
| It's a cold. Part of the deal with working with kids. I would never expect my employers to Hand hold me because of a cold. |
No one is say that they should - certainly not OP. Stop seeing "issues" when non exist, PP. It will make you very bitter. |

If this is frequent, I would re consider being nanny with low immune system and risking my health. Many other jobs needing no contact with little germy ones.
|
| Ugh - I have a cold, too, OP. AND so do my charges. Today is going to be a very long day! |
| I just got over my 3rd cold since winter started. Toddlers, once they get around other toddlers, are "germ bags" as PP said! There is no way to really avoid a cold when I am wiping my charges' noses and having them cough in my face. |
| It has been a crappy, crappy winter. |
| Try taking some ermerg c, I have good luck fighting off budding colds when I drink that. |
I'm a teacher and an after school nanny and I don't get sick. You can't always blame your own problems on other people or kids. |
Yay for marketing! I love the free market where someone can sucker people into buying 2 cents worth of sugar for $10. Kevin O'Leary would be proud. |
LOL You are ridiculous, PP. And you are NOT a teacher or you would know that we ALL get sick frequently the first year we start teaching. Stop pretending to be someone you are not. And every cold is transmitted by another human being so ANYTIME you get a cold someone has given it to you. |
| Add a little lemon juice to water it works wonders. Hope you feel better. |
What a fool you are. I am a teacher, have been for over a decade. I didn't get sick my first year and I don't get sick now. Sure sometimes my nose runs a little or I don't feel 100% but I'm an adult and I don't cry about it or take 2 days off. |
No need to be nasty. |
