Mb has a lot to learn RSS feed

Mb, I didn't decline the job because I don't like the kids. It wasn't because of the wage. It's because your house is a pig stye. I will not spend 70 hrs a week a mansion of roaches and mice. You are a hoarder and you should be ashamed of hiring help to watch your kids amongst piles of shit.

If you truly think this mother is a hoarder and the home is unsafe for the children then you should call the authorities. What do you think posting will accomplish?

It's called a vent.

I wouldn't call the authorities because it is just "messy". Many kids have been raised in messy conditions. I don't think she deserves to have her kids taken. However, she shouldn't hire a nanny and expect me to want to be there.

It's ok that you weren't offered the job, you don't have to come on here and badmouth MB out of frustration.

I was offered the job. I didn't take it because of the condition of the house. Mb has been texting me and asking why I don't want to accept the position. I gave her the "the commute is a little long" reason but honestly their house is just gross.

You could tell her you prefer working in a calm, tidy environment. You have nothing to lose, but maybe she will "get it" and work on her living situation or get a cleaning lady.
Anonymous
Then tell her the truth - gently.

"I'm sorry but I wouldn't feel comfortable working in your house."

If she follows up on that say "I feel most comfortable in an organized, uncluttered environment. I think you need to find someone who would be a better fit."

Geez, just tell her the truth, then she can at least be more honest in the job description.

If you are a "nanny" that can't work in anything but a mansion with a maid then you aren't really cut out to be a nanny.

Because if every bad nanny came here to "vent" about their lives this board would be utter chaos. It's already filled with crap and trolls, we don't need vents too. Email Jsteele and ask him to make a vent section where people can go to whine and the rest of us don't need to read it.

Yes, no nanny has the right to expect hygiene in their place of employment. My law firm is filled with trash and rotting food - but we are professionals so we deal with it.

(I am being sarcastic for the irony-impaired)

If you have to explain your joke/sarcasm/irony it isn't very good and would be best left unsaid.

Do have any idea how many people would then comment thinking PP was seriously describing her law firm?! You have much more faith in the intelligence of American populace than I or PP does.

You're utterly pathetic. Why are you here?
