We have specific events we invite our AP to on the weekend and give her notice so she can try to attend - birthday meals, etc. Recently we decided to go out for dinner on a Sunday when we were out shopping, and as she eats almost every meal at home I texted her to say where we were if she wanted to join (a few minutes walk from home). Didn't even get a "thanks for the invitation" in reply.
