I don't know what you decided but I would definitely approach it pretty directly. We had an AP's sister come for a week which I didn't even think to address the food because I figured it wouldn't be much. But then they ended up taking the kids out to Panera and Starbucks during the week and giving me the receipts for me to reimburse for meals for both of them! (She had texted to ask if she could take the kids to Panera for lunch one day and for breakfast another and I said yes! But I wasn't thinking I'd also foot the sister's bill!!!)

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a ton of money and I felt petty refusing to pay for it....but it was more the principle.
