Oh I’m sorry, were you trying to educate someone bc you think you are somehow smart? Were you choosing to reply to a post bc you wanted to seem superior and impressive? Go look up the word nice. You are neither smart nor nice. Go back to your bubble where babies don’t encounter bacteria and when they do their baby teeth fall out. |
| I was unable to prevent my MIL from sharing food and drinks with my kids as babies despite repeated requests, so all the kids were infected with oral herpes and get sores in their mouths. I asked our nanny to not share food and drinks with the kids either and she also ignored that request. The nanny was infected with oral herpes as a result - she was quite surprised when she developed the sores and I have to admit I was not sympathetic. |
I worked for a family where the baby developed a yeast infection in the mouth (aka oral thrush) from the mother breast feeding. |
| No cameras. Run away from this job. |
Yes. This is common and has nothing to do with a vaginal yeast infection. What's your point here? Or are you really that ignorant? |
And run to what? All the wealthy families (best pay, best benefits) have cameras all over the house and property. |
+1. Same with most jobs, stores, restaurants and city streets. |
| Not my job. |
This is not true. The families with cameras that they use to watch and micromanage are a different breed. |
The difference...multiple people. There is something very creepy about you being the only person watched by another person. |
Yeah... no. I’m a nanny and I encourage cameras. I’m not the person the parents are watching, the baby is. Currently, I work for high profile parents in Los Angeles and there are cameras all over - inside and out. Security guards are always watching the monitors. I’ve never worked for any family that didn’t have cameras. |

There is something inherently creepy as well as voyeuristic about people who enjoy looking at others via camera.
We have all seen movies about these types of sickos. I could never in good faith be okay to look at another person via video unless that person knows they are specifically being seen. I have zero issue w/FaceTiming. Spying is just weird to me. Nanny cams were designed to catch abuse or neglect of a child while in the care of another person. Nowadays we have parents using it to micromanage their employees. Like so and so is giving too much screen time, etc. Welcome to being a caregiver in 2019. Big Brother IS watching you. Literally.
|
Yeah and you are with the baby. So guess what, they are watching you too. |
Seriously, so what? If they were home they’d see me with the baby too. Honestly, I am so tired of this discussion. I work really hard with my charge and want my employers to see. If you don’t - don’t work for people with cameras. |
If you are so tired of this discussion, then stop posting about how much you love cameras. You post the same thing like it’s impressive. It’s not. No normal person wants to be videotaped while working in a home alone. If you work as hard as you claim with your charge, then that will actually show through your charge. A camera isn’t needed for that. I don’t work with cameras or for people who would hire me to work in their home and then not trust me. My work speaks for itself. |
