3 school-aged kids + household responsibilities.
My base rate is around $27/hr. I work 47+ hours per week. I am paid overtime for everything over 40 hours. |
$30/hr gross on the books, two kids, use my own car, no medical |
Los Angeles nanny: 40/hr with child with special needs. 40hrs guaranteed, medical stipend, 2 weeks vacation, 3 sick days, nanny car. This position is very difficult and they wouldn't find anyone at a lower rate (special degree required). |
Now how would I know that? All I know is they have a nice house and cars and obviously can afford what they are paying me. |
I don’t know about it being the norm. I’ve been with them a long time and they have added something every year. |
If you don’t mind sharing, whar degree is this? |
What do they do for a living? |
$19/hour, 40 hours a week, 2 kids - one in school part-time and one full-time. Drives our vehicle for school pick-ups. Preps and cooks dinner during school time. |
I am in LA too and that is a great package. I was given a car and full medical but only earn $27 an hour with none of your other perks. End of year bonus is a week’s salary. 2 weeks vacation. No tax prep. I thought I was doing great. |
You ARE doing great. Your package is better than any of the nannies I know in LA. |
Every employer should give full medical insurance,
just like most of them get at their jobs. |
Stop hijacking the thread. |
Stop cheating the nanny. |
I am a nanny. |
lol and lol at not providing insurance = cheating the nanny. Only on DCUM!! Comparing a household to a real company (and expectations following suit) is comical. That said, what's with all the LA folks on this forum? Is this a thing on DCUM? |
