However financial circumstances are not the same now and I need a nanny who will help a lot around our apartment (no care for the older child - just the newborn).

How do I find a loving, dependable nanny who will do some cleaning and all the laundry for the three of us?

Totally fine. Babies nap 3x a day, toddlers nap 2x a day and preK naps 1x a day. Plenty of time to keep things tidy or fold clothes.
Our nanny of 6 years always kept things looking good (as did we), did laundry and later some groceries.

My charge naps 3x a day while I’m there but only for 20-30 mins. That’s when I take my breaks. So I wouldn’t not accept this position even if the baby was spending 1+ hours sleeping. A nanny should have a break when the charge is sleeping. That’s just me. If baby is napping 3+ hours a day then maybe the nanny can get to some housework

Yikes. babies need 11-12 hours of nightly sleep plus 3-4 hours of naps under age 2.

Yes it’s pretty horrible. Sometimes he’ll only nap 10 minutes each time. MB knows and seems to be unconcerned about his day naps. His night sleep is also terrible. Mb says he wakes up every 1-2 hours

Oh boy. If your nanny cleans things not child related you better pay her more.

I pay $35/hr for house cleaner once a week with 4 hour minimum. $140/wk., Sonif she spends an hour every day cleaning, are you going to pay extra?
