Wait - you want to get out of the house but haven't explored the local park yet to figure out if it is an actual playground yet?

I have and it's not really a playground. It's a climbing wall structure. At first I thought it was a dog park. They live in a busy apartment complex. There's not anywhere to run around outside. We go for walks on the sidewalks but it's stressful because we're so close to the road. I'm going stir crazy being inside for 9 hours everyday. It's so depressing. I'm going to give this another 1-2 weeks before I quit.

Any sane person would quit too. Staying inside the house for 50 hour's per week with 2 toddler's would be hell.

I would definitely talk about it with the mom before you quit. It may just be a cash flow issue with her on the car seat. She may not know this is a big deal to you. Also, can you just borrow the one out of her car until there is money for a 2nd carseat?

Maybe you could start the conversation with an opener like

"I think that the no outings rule is becoming a little frustrating for the kids and for me as well. Perhaps we can talk about things that would make you feel more comfortable about a certain number of outings a week"

If the mother was not willing to even engage in this conversation I'd say she's out of luck, but its worth a shot!
