First week at my job and mb doesn't seem worried about getting a car seat

Maybe she's tight on money right now and doesn't want to tell you that. I'd wait til after the first of the year and then bring it up again. Car seats are expensive.

You can get a $40-80 car seat. Not that expensive.

More likely she hired OP as a temporary stop gap measure until the daycare/preschool of her choice has a slot that opens for her child and is simply waiting to fire OP.

Op here: I don't think so because I asked. She can't afford preschool and a nanny. I think she wants to build trust first. I will bring it up in a few weeks. I will probably quit over this issue. My husband makes plenty of money and this is kind of like a hobby job for me. I'm so happy he has a playmate now. It's been great.

Op here: She does have a car seat but wants to buy another one so we don't have to switch back and forth everyday.

I would just have her switch back and forth every day until she gets a new one. Either it won't be a big deal, or she will get tired of it and get a second car seat.

I just moved to the area and I have zero friends. I mentioned I like to take my son to the library story times and outdoor playground by the mall. Everything is within 1-2 miles. I really think it's a funds issue. I'm not going to ask about it again for a while. She mentioned that she's short on cash and couldn't get a Christmas tree this year.
