Yes, MB should have handled this better. At least by phone, but she could have been in shock herself.
Regarding a puppy -- this could have been prearranged. My dear friend was let go a week before a lavish birthday party he was throwing his kid. Well, the party was already booked and paid for, so we all just enjoyed it. Life sometimes is not all that is planned. The puppy could have been paid or contracted for weeks ago. |

I am so sorry, OP. I honestly cannot believe that anyone who trusted their children with another person would not sit down with them and tell them in person. Totally crappy thing to do to you.
I would break my heart if our nanny ever quit in a text and didn't even give my child a change to say goodbye. |
