It's actually the flip, right? The nanny expects her MB to clean up consistently while also taking care of kids no matter what else my be going on with her, if she is ill, if the kids were particularly difficult, if her mom just died, whatever. And as you said, that is not really a reasonable expectation. |
ThevMB has a house where life and all it's drama goes on. This includes birth, illness, and death of family members. The only thing a Nanny should be concerned with is child care and it's attendant contractual responsibilities. If Nanny has also been hired, and paid, to be a housekeeper, then she cleans kitchen, vacuums house, whatever. BUT, if she was hired andbis ONLY PAID to be a Nanny, these are not her duties. |
Right. I didn't see in the OP that the MB had added a bunch of responsibilities for the nanny, only that she didn't clean up over the weekend, and the nanny was pissed. |
| OP, was this job creep or was it in your original contract? |
| It's not a job creep unless they expect you to clean it. It's their house and if their cleaning standards aren't up to yours, you have to decide whether you want to continue working there, but you have no right to expect them to maintain the house to your standards. Things happen. As long as it doesn't affect your workload (and it shouldn't), just work around it. Your MB already has a mother, she doesn't need your judgment. |
