She made it really easy on us by resigning, five days after she promised to stay until the end of summer. She cited "changed health circumstances" and said her doctor advises she not work, but that she COULD work for two weeks worth of a notice period. I wished her well with her health and confirmed her last day. She seems to have wanted a different reaction from me that she did not get, as she was really cold when leaving. Didn't bother to say goodbye when she left. In good news, this saves us a couple of weeks of severance. Can't say I'm too broken up about it! |
Did she at least say goodbye to the children? |
Nope! |
Didn't invite her to, did you? |
Well sounds like it ended well for you then and you potentially saved yourself some drama. |
She literally waked over to the door, opened it, and walked out. I could have grabbed her wrist and shouted for my children to come running quickly, but I didnt. |
Congratulations OP! Good riddance! The situation worked itself out at the right time. She got pregnant and couldn't continue to work and you got a good prospect.
Did she just out of the blue resign ... That is before you spoke to her? I wish you well with your next nanny. |
Yay OP. Sounds like a great outcome. It was the nanny's choice, it was quick and decisive, and you can all move on.
Hope the next nanny is a great fit. |
