I'll do it.
OP, I think you are a troll and a sock puppet, and a bad one at that.

No one in their right mind would actually seek the advice of strangers on this matter. If you aren't a troll, you aren't very confident or self-possessed.

I agree. This is a troll post. I knew from the first alleged requirement of covering one's hair. That is only required of married women, not nannies.

Op here.

To the pp who suggested pants, pants aren't allowed. Only dresses and skirts.

Another poster stated that not all Jew believe that ONLY married women must cover their hair. Upthread.

Its hard to believe that didn't do it, all of the sudden has gone to the extreme. Most conservative Jews are not particularly welcoming to reformed or non-religious.

Have you met most of the conservative Jews in the world? No, I didn't think you had. I actually AM conservative, and not only can't you tell who is Reform or non-religious by looking at them, but you're completely wrong about the ... oh, I'd say at least 1,000 Jews I've talked with over the course of my life. If that's the impression you're getting then you're either jumping to incorrect conclusions or hanging around the wrong people.

I'm Jewish, so yes, I've met a few Jew's over the course of my life. Yes, you can tell in the way they talk, act, and dress. You aren't the only Jew in the world believe it or not.

To me that sounds very restrictive. I would want to wear tshirts in the summer and eat what I want outside of work and in my car.
I also wouldn't cover my hair because that's not part of my religion or believes.

OP, you need to decide if you're ok with that. I would absolutely not move in though. They sound controlling and that seems to be the nature of you living in. Control.

They want a Jewish nanny. Period.

Not necessarily. I'm the live-in nanny PP who has worked for Jewish and Muslim families, and in all three cases, they wanted someone outside of their religion.

whats the point of having someone out of the religion if you're going to make them act as if they are part of it.

Any family that you nanny for that would require you to switch to their religion is just as sick as can be.

Do not let the pressure get to you.

Collect your final payment from these morons and run for the hills. Or at least toward the cows on the farm.

I didn't ask, it wasn't my business. However, I did ask how they wanted me to handle the inevitable questions, and 2 out of 3 trusted me to answer the questions without talking to them first. The other set of parents and I sat down to talk through possible questions that might arise, which ones to direct to the parents, which to answer truthfully, and which to redirect to other topics. I got the feeling that they wanted kids to exposed to at least one trusted person outside of the very insular community in which they worshiped and went school, and I know all three families struggled with family pressing them to be more conservative.
