You aren't working twice as hard if your NF has another baby. If you think you are, you're not very smart.

A $2/hr raise is over 10% the market rate in DC. That is an incredibly generous raise for what is a moderate amount of extra work.

Good example of complete ignorance.

Babies aren't twice as much work? Wish I'd know that when my 2nd came along!

Maybe you had a difficult baby. Each of our kids had to fold into the mix. They are MUCH harder now that they are older.

I do laugh at the logic of these nannies and their fundamental misunderstanding of how the employment market works.

Should nannies laugh at the parents who can't handle the fulltime job of caring for their own children?

Truth be told. Thank you.

The growing rate for nannies was $15 for TWO children back when I was hiring through an agency. I had one and was pregnant with the second, and the nanny said no raise was required unless I had a third. I think $5 per hour is stupid. Should we pay teachers per child?

Typical raise for additional newborn is about 10% increase nationwide

When you earn $25/hr for one child, why take on double the work and stress of juggling two children?

Teachers should be paid the same as lawyers. Not 9not to they have to put up with unruly children they have to putbupveirh entitled, over the top helicopter parents who expect them to be the primary parent.

Teachers should be paid 5 times what they are paid and I am not a teacher.
It is bad enough putting up with the entitled kids but they also have to put up with far too many obnoxious parents.

Exactly. I'd be leaving a job that offered me an extra dollar for an additional infant. Some entitled parents are truly out of their minds.

Who can afford $25 per kid? They are paying for other work you do too like making kids meals, laundry, and so forth.
