You are ridiculous. She should have been ASKED, not told. about being responsible for extra kid and she should have been paid. The key word is RERESPONSIBLE. She had responsibility of,ALL three children.

Do you pay your nanny every time one of the kids has a play date? The nanny is there, the kids are having a play date, it is what it is and it's not a big deal. Nanny should not be paid and honestly doesn't need any advance warning.

Then you do it.

I do. I am a nanny, my two charges have tons of play dates. I love having the extra kids there. I've never been paid extra and would never ask for extra.

There is a big difference between having some playdates and being left with a child for 7 hours. A play date is 1-4 hours, not a whole day. I even have friends who have paid me when they ask if their kids can come hang with my charge while they work.
