Pp - we don't need that info.

Op - just take her word for it. It's highly unlikely she's being intentionally dishonest and you don't want to harm your relationship over it.

Speak for yourself. Those of us who are more familiar with public transportation than OP could verify the fare totals for her.

OP can do that for herself; google DC metro trip planner, enter your address and hers and the times she travels, it will spit out her route and how much it costs.

Stop being nosey, PP. Would you want your daily route put on blast on an anonymous forum without your knowledge? There are sick people out there.

Oh my god, I'm not asking for an address, and I'm not being nosey - what possible excitement could I get from that? I take the Dash 3 bus to the Pentagon during rush hour, then take the blue line to Farragut North. Whats the big deal? You're a nervous Nellie.

You're an idiot.

Doesn't her online SmartTrip account give a running record of what is spent on her travel?

Just have her print out that and show you the exact amount of her commute.

I'm an idiot because I don't get my panties in a bunch over posting a generic public transportation itinerary that many, many other people take as well?

Separately, why are you so angry that you result to name calling? I know the holidays can be stressful for people like you, but try to take some time and do something nice for yourself.

We don't know the nanny's name so would the "sick" person follow everyone who took this route?

OP, I'm guessing this is some confusion or your nanny is incredibly clueless about how to get more pay.

But I don't even think this is an issue. If you really believe your nanny would try to cheat you out of $.25/week or so, you don't trust her. You should figure out why this is and either directly address it with or find a new nanny. I think you should look for a new nanny, honestly, since it seems more like a gut feeling you have. Give her a good ref when she goes and find someone who puts you at ease.

It's $1.32 per day, or $6.60 for a 5-day week, not $0.25 a week. That comes to $343.20 a year. There's no way she should get a good ref for stealing that from her employer.
