Your story keeps getting more and more unbelievable. Imagine that. |
Op: Well, I am dreading this week.... I am really really nervous. it has been effecting my whole weekend.
Has anyone dealt with this before? I really need some advice on what to do if she brings it up in person, or just continues to give me the cold shoulder, I thought about bringing her flowers or a starbucks in the morning as a peace offering... |
You've been given advice. Ignore her. Just keep repeating that your last day will be such-n-such a day. Do not engage her in conversation about it. Walk away if you have to. If she keeps bugging you say this, "MB I understand that might be upset about the short notice I have given you. As I've said before my last day will be X. I will not change my mind. I am getting very uncomfortable having you badger me about this. I would like to fulfill the notice period I gave you, but if you continue to bring this up I will be forced to resign immediately. Would you like me to fulfill my notice period on peaceful terms or shall we end my employment effective immediately?" Don't bring a peace offering. That will just tell her she's getting to you. You're moving on to a better opportunity. It happens all the time in the business world. Grow up, ignore and/or address her comments like people have suggested, and learn to be more assertive in your next position. |
Op here.
I am so thankful I am done for this maliputive woman. I will be returning the vacation money by her request. I asked last week if we should just be done as I will be in vacation and its silly for me to come back for one 8 hour shift on Tuesday when I have the whole rest of the week off. She replied no you need to come in as we agreed upon. I was fine with it. Headed home from my vacation yesterday night so i am able to work Tuesday and she texts me... You can stay if you want we have arranged care. Annoying Now she has asked me to return the house keys and vacation pay as soon as I am back in town.... Well I just spent my vacation pay.... As she had not said anything about it... This sucks |
Return your vacation pay? She had nothing to loose by checking to see if you were stupid. Good that you spent it. I'd return the keys only with a witness that you trust and pick, and certainly not at their house. |
Pp.. Are you saying don't return the vacation pay? I clearly don't have it. So I would need to wait til my it's pay vheque |
Do not return the vacation pay, it is rightfully yours. Return the keys through a verifiable source (in person with a witness or via certified mail) and be done with it. Do not accept any further correspondence. |
Agree. Get ready to call up the Dept. of Labor if they don't pay you. |
If you were to be paid for your vacation time and had already "earned it" as part of the position (usually if you have to earn it over many months, you only get a day or 2 towards it every month or so you work and you would not be able to use it in advance of getting/earning it), then you should not be paying it back. It was part of the job. Just like you wouldn't pay back last weeks pay if you had already earned it. |
You are not acting like a professional. The mother is asking you to keep to your agreement. |
The nanny has been dealing with another crook. Good luck with getting your last paycheck. |
