a lot of these stories are fake RSS feed

Even if some of the stories on here are fake, as long as they are good and believable, then I do not mind, since I love to be entertained. Isn't that why we visit websites such as these??!!

No, its not entertainment. It makes nannies look like idiots. These threads bring out the sock puppets and idiot posters. New parents come to this forum to gather information on whether to hire a nanny or daycare. I'm sure some are completely scared off by what they read from these posters. Nannies are presented as immature fools.

And your sorry excuse for being here is.....?
One more immature fool. Oh wait, you're the control freak!

95% of this would be solved if this weren't an anonymous forum.

As long as it remains anonymous there is almost no way to effectively maintain civility or credibility - which is a shame.

I'm an MB who thought this forum would be a great source of information and advice. And, on occasion, it has been. But equally as often it's been alarming and disturbing. If I hadn't been a year into our relationship with our nanny I think the tone here would have really scared me and potentially significantly influenced my childcare decisions.

I try to be helpful and useful on the forum in my postings, but these days I don't know when/if I'm wasting my time if I take some sad story seriously and put effort into responding.

Such a shame.

This. I'm a nanny that found this site when I was looking for advice on negotiating my contract. I've gotten a lot of good advice here, but the circus that its becoming is really turning me off. I also do my best not to call troll on every thread, but if the OP really did start all those threads and sock puppets them like she does this one, how can we not be leery on every post?

Yep, anonymous forums breed this hysteria.

Anonymous wrote:Thank you, Jeff, for dealing with this. Maybe she was our trolling novelist, always ended very long dramatic stories with:
"Thoughts?"
I don't suppose we'll see that again...

Anyone else recognize the dozens of painfully detailed random posts that always end the same way? I knew it was the same person with the same writing style.

You may speak for yourself and that's all. Nice try. Lol.

Pretty sure you're the troll. The same one that calls everyone who disagrees with you a forum nazi/dictator or a bad MB. Just knock it off please.

I am one of many who you fail to control, despite your repeated attempts. All opinions and discussion are welcome here. Even yours.

So, yes, you're the troll, or one of them, who managed to completely destroy this forum. This could have been a valuable place for real discussions of important issues for both nannies and MBs. But no. You'd rather be an idiot child and fuck up any real conversations between people who actually care about nannies and MBs. Good on you, lol.

I seriously hope the real nannies here try and repair the damage you have done.

I also hope you and your ISYN and Tribe trolls find another playground.

OMG yes!! Or start another "secret" nanny-bashing group.

what are these posts that apparently all sound the same?!

Apparently, most posters here don't appreciate the OP for making up stories and trolling this board.

It doesn't have to be anonymous. There is an option to create a username and login, thus identifying all your posts as belonging to the same person, at least. But people seem to prefer to stay anonymous, even as they complain about the anonymous nature of this forum.

Make it not anonymous, Jeff!
Anonymous
You don't have to be anonymous, PP. create a log in!
Anonymous
Even if you sign in you are still anonymous. Unless you use your actual first and last name as a username.

It wouldn't stop sock puppetting because someone could always make up two (or more) usernames.
